What Was The Covenant Between God And Abraham?

The Abrahamic covenant is an example of a one-sided agreement that was formed by God with Abraham. An agreement between two parties in which only one of the parties is obligated to carry out the terms of the agreement is referred to as a unilateral covenant.

  1. A promise that was made between God and Abraham in the form of a covenant.
  2. In accordance with the covenant, God promised to provide Abraham and his descendants with safety as well as land, but on the condition that they walk in God’s ways.
  3. After that, God gave Abraham and his descendants the mandate to carry out the rite of circumcision, also known as the brit milah, as a sign of their commitment to the covenant.
