How Does God Look?
- Edward C. Miller
According to the Bible, it is impossible to know what God looks like since God does not have a corporeal body like ours, which we are able to see and touch. It has been conveyed to us that He is a spirit. Since God is spirit, people who worship Him must do it in a way that is both spiritual and honest.

What does God look like in the Bible?
Question: ‘What does God look like?’.Since the Bible describes God as a spirit (John 4:24), it is impossible for us to comprehend what His physical form would be like.Exodus 33:20 informs us, ″You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.″ This verse indicates that seeing God’s face is fatal.Because of our sinful nature, we are unable to comprehend the majesty of God in all that He is.
What does the Bible say about seeing God?
God made it clear to Moses in Exodus 33:20 that he did not want him to see his face, declaring that ″man shall not see me and live.″ According to the verse in John 1:18, ″No one has ever seen God.″ When God has shown Himself to humans, He has done so in forms that may be easily recognized by other people. When the Israelites were in the desert with Moses, for instance, God’s presence manifested itself as a cloud for them to see.

John 4:24 makes the assertion that ″God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in the Spirit and in truth.″ According to 1 Timothy 1:17, he is described as ″the King everlasting, immortal, and unseen.″ This suggests that God does not have a fundamental physical shape, despite the fact that he may appear in a variety of forms, including human form (more on that later).
Is it permissible to look at God’s face?
It is forbidden to attempt to view the face of God in any literal sense (Exodus 33:20). When God appeared to Moses as a bush that was on fire, Moses was afraid to stare directly at God (Exodus 3:6). Even the close intimacy that existed between Moses and the Lord, in which the Lord talked to Moses ″face to face″ (Deuteronomy 34:10), had its bounds.

What color is God in the Bible?
The Psalmist makes it quite clear that ″God is not a human.″ Jesus said on his own person that ″God is Spirit.″ I am not aware of whether or not spirit may have the quality of color; nevertheless, if this is the case, we are not provided any information on the color in question. In addition to this, it is emphasized throughout both the Old and New Testaments that people cannot see God.

Why do we not see God?
We are unable to perceive God because it would be too simple for us to look at someone and yet consider them to be genuine. God desires for us to have trust in him and for us to have the strength to believe even when we cannot see what he is doing. The eyes of faith, you’re right!
How can I meet God?
Then how are we able to converse with God? Only by dedication, just as Sudhama did, is it possible to appease him. Rituals and ceremonies, as well as our power, rank, and fortune, are of no use. Only through love, like Sudhama’s example, will we be able to meet Him; if we bring our wish list of self-centered petitions with us, we will fail.
