Wednesday Wire

May 7, 2008                                              We are the Keepers of the Flame

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Mandatory Commitment Evenings

The Mandatory Commitment Evenings will be held on Wednesday, May 7, and Thursday, May 8, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Registering is important, as OLV finalizes appropriate staffing plans for 2008-09.

Seed Packets for the Laramie Avenue Garden

Please consider buying one (1) packet of flower seeds for your child to use to contribute to a grade level class collection of seeds that will be used to plant flowers in the new Laramie Avenue garden. On Deloitte IMPACT Day, the Deloitte crew will move the bricks and the planting area east about ten feet. Then the new large planting area will be subdivided into ten planting areas - one for each class, Pre-K thru Grade 8. The Deloitte crew will plant all of the seeds collected by the students on June 6.

Plastic Water Jugs to Water the New Trees

Please consider sending one (1) rinsed-out 1-gallon plastic jug for students to use to measure water for the new trees. Each class waters one tree. Each new tree needs 10 gallons of water a week this year.

Scrap Paper

In order to help with operational costs (ultimately in order to keep tuition as low as possible) we save where we can.  Copy paper is expensive.   For one sided copies we can use scrap paper.  Maybe you know of a business with old stationery they no longer use or a have a one-sided print job they cannot use.  If it will work in a copy machine, we would be grateful for the donation.
