A
New Year Begins!
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer.
It is sad to see the long days begin to come to an end, but I am
excited about a new school year!
If your child attends public school
please sign him or her up for REP as soon as possible. Registration
forms and schedules are available in the rectory. REP begins on
September 8th. We meet
on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. in the school. Classes are
for grades 1-8.
Whether your child attends Our Lady of
Victory School or the public schools, I ask for your participation
in the formation of your child's faith life. Going to Mass, being
involved, and growing in your faith as a family are all important.
Please attend parent meetings, take an
interest in the sacraments your children are receiving, and take an
active role as a Christian and a role model.

Religious Education News and
Information
I hope
you and your families will enjoy the summer break. We all need one.
As we wind down from one school year I look forward to another.
If your
child attends our religious education program (REP) please make sure
that you register for the 2010-2011 year. Forms are always available
in the rectory front office along with a schedule for the upcoming
year.
Sacrament information for grades 2, 3 and 8 as well as those out of
sync with a sacrament is also available with the schedule. This is
for all OLV and REP students.
I am
happy to say that this coming year I will be working more closely
with the school and faculty consulting and assisting with religious
education for the children and staff.
Please
make religious education a priority. It is so important. Please come
to mass during the summer. Pray as a family, and give of your time
and talents. Also, make vocations a priority. There are so many to
choose from. Go over prayers with your children, and participate
with all of the mass parts.
Upcoming
dates to keep in mind:
(1)
August 18th is the
Catechist/Aide/Staff meeting at 6 p.m. in the convent. Dinner
will be served. We begin at 6 p.m.
(2)
August 23rd is the
Parent Night for REP. One or both parents should be in attendance.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the school hall.
(3)
REP begins September 8th
at 6 p.m. in the school.
If I can

ext. 18 or 23. Calls are always returned, even during the summer.
If you
have a child/children who are in need of special assistance, a child
who has missed a sacrament, or some other circumstance do not
hesitate to call. Id be happy to help you.
